An initial consultation (Meet and Greet) prior to the first service visit for all new clients is required. This gives everyone an opportunity to get to know each other and ensure you that I am a good fit for you and your pets.
There will be a $20 charge for each trip that is made to pick-up keys prior to the commencement of a booking after the initial consultation. There is also a $20 charge for each trip that is made to drop off keys after the completion of a booking.
Clients are require to provide copies of their house keys before their first service period. A second set of keys must be available. The secondary key requirement is fulfilled if there is a lockbox containing keys or one can be requested from the concierge personnel or the info sheet you provide has an available contact that has keys If there is no secondary contact for a key, two sets of keys must be provided. The primary source of keys may not be the concierge desk, a lockbox or remotely-granted access
The procedure for labeling, storing, and using keys is designed to ensure the utmost security and privacy. I use generic key tags which are never labeled with your name, address or pet's name
You must inform me of all persons who have access to your home and/or property during the service period including neighbors, friends, relatives, and service persons. If anyone other than I enters the property during the service period, you will be responsible for all situations thereafter the person’s entry.
If you or anyone else is expected to be at your home during a scheduled visit, you should notify me that there will be someone else in your home when I arrive. That would include yourself, out-of-town guests, workmen, maids.
I will not enter your home if I am aware that there is activity in your home or there is someone other than your pet present in your home. You will be notified immediately that the visit did not occur.
For the health and safety of the dogs in my care, clients are required to provide a properly fitted, secure harness for all dogs that I will be walking. If you have a dog with poor leash manners, it may require you to provide a front attach harness.
Any situations that involve a pet without a properly fitted harness are not covered by the Pet Care insurance policy.
Once you have returned home from an out of town trip, please let me know by sending an email or text message. If I don’t receive confirmation by email or text that you have returned home and I am not able to reach you, I will extend the service period and continue to visit and care for your pets and home on the established schedule. The additional visits will be billed at your prevailing rate plus 20%.
I reserves the right, without prior notice, in its sole discretion, to adjust the timing of pet visits and to cancel or adjust daily visits due to weather, national emergency, and/or other emergency or threatening aggressive behavior of the pet. If both, the local federal government offices in DC and the DC government offices are closed, daily visits will be cancelled without any cancellation fee, and you will receive an account credit for missed visit.
You may request that the visit not be cancelled during this time and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
