I recently retired from Logan Hardware after seven years with the hardware store. I am currently working at True Value on 17th Hardware. Both True Value on 17th and Logan Hardware are pet friendly stores and I know many of the dogs and their caregivers by name. I have been a dog caregiver for most of my life. I was born into a home with a dog and have had dogs in my home since then. I have adopted about a dozen rescue dogs over the past several decades, usually living with multiple dogs at the same time(usually four) . I am currently with three rescue dogs and can’t image living without the companionship of dogs. I provide my pet services in Northwest, Washington DC in portions of zip codes of 20009, 20005 and 20036. I started as a dog walker with Rover in January 2017 and completed the Rover Dog Walker Certification. In March of 2018, I transitioned from Rover to Joe T Dog Walking
I provide dog walking and home dog or cat sitting (Drop-In Visits). I am available for recurring bookings as well as occasional bookings. I provide an alternative to group dog walking and randomly assigned dog walkers. Your pet receives individualized and consistent attention not common with many dog walking services that frequently walk groups of dogs with a variety of dog walkers. My goal is that your pet and I will become best friends. With the Drop-In-Visit option, I provide playtime/TLC time after the walk.

Service List and Rates
Drop-In Visits
Home visits that may include walking, feeding, refreshing water, administering medication and TLC/playing with your dog or cat.
Basic Drop-In Visit for one pet
$22
Thirty minutes. The clock starts when I walk through the main door of your building. If a dog walk is included in the visit, we will maximize the length of the walk and will also leave time to refresh water, leash/unleash the dog, quickly write a walk or pet sitting report, elevator and front desk delays, and perform whatever other services are required. Typically a 30 minute visit results in a 20-25 minute walk depending on the type of building.
Additional Dog or Cat
$8
Additional charge of $8 for each additional dog or cat
Puppy Drop-In Visits
$25
Home visits with a dog or cat less than 8 months old.
Holiday Drop-In Visits
Additional $10
Home visits that occur on a Holiday. This charge applies to the day of the Holiday and the days before and after the Holiday. If several pets, the Additional Dog or Cat charge will also apply. Additionally, the Puppy policy also applies. The Holiday Rate applies to any of the days listed in the Holiday periods below, if your booking includes the Holiday or either the day before or the day after the Holiday. The Holiday periods are below.

Payment for Service
- Payment is expected 15 days prior to the start of the visit. If less than 15 days, payment is expected at the time of my acceptance of your booking request.
- Payment for Holiday/Vacation periods is expected 30 days prior to the start of the visit. Holiday/Vacation periods and general cancellation policy are defined below.
- Visits accepted by me are not scheduled until the payment has been received for your booking request.

Late Payment Charge
10%
Payment is expected 15 days (30 days for holiday periods) prior to the start of the visit or if less than 15 days or 30 days holiday periods, at the time of my acceptance of your booking request. If payment is not received within 12 hours of my acceptance of your booking request, there will be a 10% late charge for the booking.
The 10% late charge will also apply if the payment is not received at least 12 hours before the accepted scheduled booking.
Cancellation Policy
0%, 50%, or 100% Credit
General cancellations are refunded as credit towards future bookings. Credit is given as follows:
- There is no credit for cancellations made on the same day as the scheduled visit (at or after 12:00 midnight same day) or less than 12 hours from requested visit.
- If you cancel at or after 12:00 noon the day before the scheduled visit, you will get a 50% credit for the first seven cancelled days.
- You will get a full credit if you cancel before 12:00 noon the day before the scheduled visit
Holiday/Vacation Cancellation Policy
0% or 100% Credit
Holiday/Vacation cancellations are refunded electronically through Zelle. Credit is given as follows:
- Due to increased demand during Holiday/Vacation Periods, Holiday/Vacation cancellations require at least 15 days notice to receive 100% credit.
- If you cancel with less than 15 days notice, there is no credit.
- There is no 50% credit for Holiday/Vacation cancellations.
Use of Credit from Cancelled Visit
- Credit from a cancelled visit will be applied to the first unpaid subsequent visit following the cancelled visit.
- Credit applied to a subsequent visit from a previously cancelled visit, will not be reissued if the subsequent rescheduled visit is also cancelled. The credit will be lost.
- Credits more than 30 days old from a cancelled visit will be lost.

From day 1 everything has been great and it has been over a year now. We live in busy Dupont Circle so it can be a challenge to walk my energetic dogs but Joe does a terrific job. Our pup is crazy about Joe - when she sees him in the hood with us, she is ecstatic and can't wait to lick and greet him. He shows up every day, on time, to take her on a walk and always treats her with gentleness and affection.
